Cansu Sönmez constructs her multidisciplinary practice through a critical and conceptual language. Focusing on the relationships between power, the city, the human, and nature, she explores the porous boundaries between dystopia and utopia, revealing their constant potential to transform into one another.

Moving fluidly across materials and techniques, Sönmez develops a hybrid mode of expression. Bringing together concrete, painting, kinetic systems, AI-generated works, sculpture, and installation, she invites the viewer to reflect on alternative possibilities. Drawing from personal experiences, the artist builds speculative bridges toward the future, tracing the contours of new and evolving worlds in each work.
